halo 3 tops xbox live 2009

UK, January 11, 2010 - Halo 3 maintained its stranglehold on Xbox Live as a list of the top online games on Xbox 360 in 2009 placed the 2007 shooter on top of the pile.

It saw off Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in a list compiled by Xbox Live's Major Nelson and based on connectivity. Modern Warfare 2 came in third despite only releasing towards the tail-end of the year and was followed by Call of Duty: World at War, with Gears of War 2, GTA IV and Left 4 Dead filling out the middle order.

EA's Battlefield 1943 was the most successful of last year's Xbox Live Arcade titles as Castle Crashers and Trials HD taking second and third place respectively.

Of the Indie Games it was I MAED A GAME W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1 that claimed the top spot, beating out Avatar Drop and RC – AirSim.
